Art in the workplace
Art in everyday working life inspires and promotes the creativity of the employees of a Unternehmens. So, the HVB art collection, which has grown over many decades, always provides new impulses and food for thought. Diversity and size, but also uniqueness and individuality characterize the collection to a particular degree. It is also an integral component of HypoVereinsbank's social and cultural commitment and, together with the other collections of UniCredit Group (e.g. UniCredit S.p.A. and UniCredit Bank Austria AG), reflects the cultural heritage of our company . On the website of the UniCredit Art Collection some selected key works from the collections can be viewed and bear witness to this multifaceted art collection.
Over the past few years, the profile of the HVB Kunstsammlung has been increasingly sharpened to include works from the European art scene with a focus on contemporary art. This special feature can also be experienced in the art concept in the various building complexes of the HVB Tower, Flachbau Nord and Flachbau Süd at Arabellapark. The works of art in the collection are an integral part of the architecture and flank the offices and central areas such as meeting rooms, corridors and foyers.
Art in dialogue for the event areas
The guiding principle of entering into dialogue with art manifests itself in particular on the 1st and 2nd floors of the low-rise building south. Here are the event areas with conference rooms and guest casino. People, encounters and conversations characterize this area. The works by Sigmar Polke, Georg Baselitz, Karin Kneffel, HelmutMiddendorf, Rainer Fetting and Cornelius Völker, among others, which were selected for this situation, tell their specific "story" – sometimes in extensive work complexes – pursue their own concept, encourage reflection on transcendent social and political topics and seduce with a suggestive painting style or technical brilliance. The corridor areas on these two floors pursue their own concept: the medium of photography plays a special role in the HVB Art Collection. From this comprehensive focus, works by Michael Wesely, Shirin Neshat, Barbara Klemm and Thomas Ruff, among others, were chosen for this spatial situation, which on the one hand "put people, encounters and social life into the picture" and at the same time form a mixture of classics of photography and contemporary positions rich in contrasts and relationships.
European Dimensions - Global Thinking in the "Regular Floors" in the HVB Tower
The floor concept in the so-called "standard floors" from the 5th to the 18th floor pursues and deepens a different idea. A journey takes us mainly through the art of Europe to the art movements from Asia and America. Here, where more than a thousand employees work flexibly and at the same time communicatively networked in open office areas according to the concept of "SmartWorking", the European dimensions, the cultural togetherness and the global thinking of our company are visualized with quite contrary positions of art from the 20th and 21st centuries and the international references of the collection are visible. Each floor is symbolically dedicated to a specific country or continent, and the meeting rooms named after cities and the art in the corridors thus unite to form an overall spatial concept. On display are works by Rupprecht Geiger, Siegfried Anzinger, Christo, Roman Signer and David Claerbout, among others.
Key works of the collection on the Executive Board floors 19th to 22nd floors in the HVB Tower
The Art of the 20th and 21st The 19th century, with its controversial statements, European dimensions and international characteristics, has thus been given a permanent place in the standard floors in the Tower. A special feature are the Executive Board floors from 19. to the 22nd floor, where important key works of classical modernism and contemporary art can be admired, including works by Gerhard Richter, Albert Oehlen, Julian Opie, Ralph Fleck, Stephan Balkenhol, Fischli & Weiss and Lori Hersberger.
Diversity as a leitmotif in the low-rise north building
As a modern company, HVB sees the engagement with contemporary art not only as an aesthetic discourse, but above all as an examination of important issues of our time. It provides space for dialogue and, as equipment within the bank's architecture, offers a stimulating and stimulating working environment.
The HVB Art Collection is characterized by a wide variety of artistic movements, genres and positions, thus reflecting the corporate values of cultural diversity and inclusion.
These leitmotifs are also reflected in the art concept on the various levels and business areas in the low-rise building north. Works by Andreas Gursky, Florian Böhm, Jerry Zeniuk, Peter Zimmermann and Christine Streuli, among others, will be exhibited there.
Another central component of HVB's cultural commitment is the promotion of young artists. As early as the 1990s, works by young up-and-coming talents from the German art academies were discovered and purchased for the Kunstsammlung, and their artistic careers were accompanied from their studies to becoming successful artists. A corresponding art concept with early works by Cornelius Völker, Katharina Grosse, Monica Bonvicini and Tatjana Doll, among others, will be exhibited in the low-rise north building.
